We have almost finished producing a 30 minute documentary on highly-effective spiritual therapies developed in Brazil in the last 150 years. The film is titled, "Spiritism: Bridging Spirituality and Health. Imagine visiting a community center where you may attend classes, e.g. how to develop intuition or how to do spiritual healing, and receive various forms of healing--All for free.
These Brazilian Spiritist Centers empower people—from all religious traditions-- to be more attuned to spiritual guidance and God within. Even though centers are ecumenical, they clearly revitalize the Christian teachings of the New Testament, eg. "Love Ye One Another". Top priorities are spiritual growth for participants and charitable giving to the poor.
More than 20 million Brazilians attend these centers. One of the largest centers reports it is 90% effective in helping addicts and suicidally depressed regain wellness. Another claims 70-80% effectiveness with healing all manner of diseases.
The producers feel that these centers present a model for a way of life and a set of priorities that is positive—and, in the midst of the dissolution and change we are experiencing—we certainly need POSITIVE MODELS OF COMMUNITY which support spiritual growth and wellness which we can bring home!
In this next film, Dr. Bragdon interviews Dr. Daniel Benor, MD, a foremost authority on spiritual healing, as well as Marlene Nobre, MD, President of the International Spiritist Medical Association. As in the first documentary, Dr. Bragdon tells the inside story of healing work. The story that has not yet been told in film. The message is delivered with heart, strength, and simplicity using sophisticated voices.
In April, 2007 we received a matching grant of $32,000. to help meet our budget. If you can donate to help with production costs, each dollar you give will be worth two dollars to us (up to $32,000). As of December, 14, 2007, we now need to raise $8500 more in order to complete production costs.
